Paylocity pricing in 2026: what to expect from a quote
Paylocity doesn't publish prices. Every quote is built from your headcount and the modules you choose. Here's how that works, what third-party trackers say it costs, and what to ask for.
How Paylocity prices
Paylocity charges per employee per month. Four things move the number:
- Headcount. Per-person rates usually fall as headcount grows.
- Modules. Payroll and core HR are the base. Time and attendance, benefits administration, recruiting and learning add to it.
- Pay frequency. How often you run payroll is part of the quote.
- Contract term. The length of your commitment affects the rate you're offered.
Implementation, the guided setup where Paylocity configures your account and moves your data, is usually a separate one-time fee.
Estimated monthly cost
OutSail, an HR software advisory, estimates Paylocity's full suite at about $26 to $33 per person a month. Other pricing trackers put payroll and HR alone at about $18 to $22. Here's what those ranges mean at common sizes:
| People | Payroll and HR (est.) | Full suite (est.) |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | $900 to $1,100 | $1,300 to $1,650 |
| 100 | $1,800 to $2,200 | $2,600 to $3,300 |
| 250 | $4,500 to $5,500 | $6,500 to $8,250 |
Monthly, before implementation fees. Larger companies often negotiate lower per-person rates, so treat the bigger rows as an upper range. Your quote may differ.
Paylocity vs Gusto at 50 people
On paper, Gusto Plus is $680 a month at 50 people and Premium is $1,280, both published prices with no setup fee. Paylocity's estimated range overlaps Premium. The case for Paylocity isn't price. It's depth: time and attendance, benefits administration and HR workflows in one system, plus someone to set it up with you. If your team is growing past 50 and HR work is piling up, that's worth a quote. If payroll is your main need, Gusto is likely simpler and cheaper.
What to ask for in your quote
- Every module, itemized, with its per-person rate.
- The implementation fee, and what it includes.
- Year-end fees for W-2s and 1099s, if any.
- Minimums, such as a minimum monthly charge or employee count.
- Contract length and cancellation notice.
- Price increases: how much renewal rates can rise.
